At the time of writing, 81% of user reviews were positive, and the game had peaked at 4,776 concurrent players over the past 24 hours. However, some of the biggest complaints concern technical issues, questionable combat design decisions, and the difficulty of certain encounters.

One More Level and Lyrical Games announced that Valor Mortis will launch on October 13, 2026, with a base price of $39.99. The first-person Soulslike is set during the Napoleonic era and will arrive on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.

The pricing decision is deliberate. Blake Rochkind, head of publisher Lyrical Games, said the team spent a long time discussing it and worried that a lower price could send the wrong message about the game.
