VRZ: Torment is a virtual reality action-adventure with role-playing elements, set on Purgatory Island, a prison for the undead and the dying. Infected with the Animus, a machine that keeps the protagonist alive, the player must uncover the island’s mysteries and find a way to escape while the Far Watchers track their movements.

The player explores the island, solves puzzles and fights hordes of zombies. The arsenal includes firearms, melee weapons, a bow and arrows, and grenades, while multiple approaches allow for different ways to complete the game. Bonus mini-games include a shooting range, duck hunting and arcade challenges.
