This turn-based strategy game is set in the Warhammer 40,000 universe, where the Ultramarines Space Marines face Chaos Space Marines influenced by daemonic forces. The single-player campaign follows a connected storyline across 13 missions, in which players fight against the forces of Chaos.

The multiplayer mode offers nine missions and small, medium, and large map variants for matches with two to eight players. Players can fight for the Imperium or Chaos, choosing between two Space Marine chapters or two Chaos Space Marine legions; battles can pit either faction against itself or the Imperium against Chaos. The 3D battlefields are destructible.
