A wrestling game based on WWF’s syndicated television show, WWF Superstars has the player guide a chosen wrestler through a series of matches for the WWF World Heavyweight Championship. Before each bout, the wrestlers address their opponents, and Vince McMahon comments on the action afterward.
The roster includes Hulk Hogan, “Macho Man” Randy Savage, The Ultimate Warrior, “The Million Dollar Man” Ted DiBiase, and Mr. Perfect. Wrestlers use strikes, grapples, throws, and attacks from the turnbuckle; they share the same moveset apart from their individual strikes. Opponents can be thrown out of the ring or hit with a dropkick through the ropes. Defeating the other four wrestlers completes the series and awards a portrait of the selected wrestler.
