Splatoon Raiders gets launch update 1.1.0, with patch notes out now
Nintendo posted the patch notes for Splatoon Raiders version 1.1.0, which also makes the game's latest online requirements clear. The game launched worldwide on July 23, 2026, exclusively on Nintendo Switch 2, and this first update arrives as players start exploring the new spin-off.
The update makes a small but specific set of changes. Nintendo says it adjusted the music in some scenes and fixed several bugs to improve the gameplay experience.
There is also an online catch: the latest update data is required to play the game's online features. At the same time, downloading the newest version disables local communication and LAN play with earlier versions.
Splatoon Raiders itself is positioned as a spin-off with a stronger focus on solo play, though it still supports co-op for up to four players. Nintendo also said it developed the game as a spin-off and not as Splatoon 4.
That direction matches what Seita Inoue, producer at Nintendo EPD, said about the project.
We thought it might be interesting to create something with a slightly different approach to gameplay, where you can really savor the action on your own.
Previously, we published a feature highlighting the most anticipated games of 2026 for Nintendo Switch 2 and Nintendo Switch.
Does Splatoon Raiders' solo-first direction make it more appealing than a full-scale Splatoon 4 sequel?
