In the world of Elden Ring, players can encounter a multitude of secret bosses. One such opponent is Malenia — one of the most challenging enemies in the game. However, reaching the girl, as well as defeating her, is not so simple. In this guide, we will tell you how to find and defeat Malenia, Blade of Miquella.
First and foremost, the player needs to head to the capital and defeat Morgott, the Omen King. After completing this task, we open the door to the frosty lands of the giants and embark on a search for two parts of the Haligtree Secret Medallion. The first piece lies in Castle Sol in the northeastern part of the world, while the second is located in the Albinaurics' village to the west.
Having gathered both parts of the Haligtree Secret Medallion, we head to Rold's Lift. Using the weapon switch button, we select and activate the option Raise the Haligtree Secret Medallion. We proceed to the Liturgical Town and solve the puzzle with four statues. We return to the circle, ascend the large staircase to the arch, and use the teleport to the Haligtree of Miquella location.
We reach the Site of Grace Prayer Room. It will not be difficult. The locations are straightforward without any forks. For this, we descend down the tree roots, use the ladder, and find the first Site of Grace.
We move further along the bridge to the next safe point. We descend, go around the tree, and use the ladder. We ran to the elevator and straight ahead to the prayer room.
After activating the Site of Grace, move straight ahead and use the tree roots to cross to the other side. Climb up the large staircase and continue forward. It's almost impossible to get lost here.
Run through the rot swamp, follow the root to a small arch, and descend the ladder. Exit outside.
Carefully jump down another root into the shrimp hall. Use the elevator and activate the Site of Grace before the boss.
This fight is one of the most challenging in the game. In the first phase, the opponent uses a variety of sword attacks without employing magic. There are sweeping and thrusting strikes that deal significant damage. The girl does not make too many hits in one go, so the player will have enough time to dodge. In the second stage, the opponent transforms into a deity and fully regenerates her health.
It's recommended not to use a helper right away, but to save it for the second phase. It's also advisable to seek the help of other players. To do this, use the Finger Remedy before entering the arena. You can learn more about multiplayer from our separate material.
The enemy has a passive vampirism skill, so with every precise hit, Malenia will regenerate some health. In this case, the character cannot hide behind a shield — the enemy will still heal a bit. The girl is vulnerable to bleed attacks and heavy strikes. It's a good idea to bring the Seeker's Fang, which will help defeat the enemy faster. After reducing her health to zero, the girl transforms into a deity.
In the second phase, Malenia immediately flies towards the hero and activates a skill with rot. You need to dodge before the enemy lands and repeat the dodge before the flower opens. This attack is often repeated. Running is not recommended. The best way to avoid damage is to dodge. After a powerful move, the girl draws her blade and makes a series of attacks. You get a small window of time to deal damage to the boss. Finish off the enemy, receiving the Remembrance and the Great Rune of Malenia as a reward.
To restore Malenia's Great Rune, you need to head to the isolated divine tower. First and foremost, reach the Site of Grace Divine Bridge in the capital of Leyndell. This can be done while exploring the city.
Access to the required location can also be achieved through a chest located at the top of the return tower in the southeastern part of the map. Open the chest and be transported to the divine bridge. To the left of the giant, activate the portal and teleport to the tower. Use the elevator and reach the top of the structure.
In the center of the tower, activate Malenia's Great Rune. When using this artifact, all of the hero's attacks will restore his health. This item is suitable for melee characters who do not use dodging and try to break through crowds of enemies head-on.
