Best Builds in Enshrouded: A Skill Guide
In Enshrouded, there's no clear class division; everything depends on your equipment and the skill tree you decide to develop. However, as in the game itself, there's a less obvious path that will help you gain extra power faster and make the most out of the unlocked skills. In this guide, we'll discuss important perks, builds, and what you should focus on first.
How to Get More Skill Points
Besides the standard experience farming from killing monsters, you can earn an additional point by destroying Shroud Roots. They are scattered all over the map and not always in obvious places. As you progress through the story, new markers will appear: Elixir Well and Shroud Root. You can get a maximum of 114 skill points by reaching level 25, completing the main quests, and destroying all Shroud Roots.
Should You Level Up Basic Skills
The points inside the circle are basic skills that aren't tied to any class. But that doesn't mean they're useless. Stealth Attack will help you avoid many unnecessary battles, and increased backstab damage will be useful when playing co-op, allowing you to deal significantly more damage. The Savior skill helps revive allies in 3 seconds instead of 6, making it one of the most useful enhancements at the start of co-op play. And if you love building or often break through mountains with a pickaxe, then the entire upper left branch inside the circle will definitely come in handy.
Which Skills Should You Level Up First
Here's a list of talents that will be useful for any role and will always be beneficial:
- Double Jump — since the game lacks climbing, this skill makes exploring the world easier and helps successfully complete tower challenges. It can also be used while climbing ladders, as the jump doesn't consume stamina;
- Updraft — the glider flies down in an unpleasant trajectory, which this skill can correct. It will save you from lava or traps upon landing and allows for quick movement by sliding down sloped hills;
- Efficient Healing — a nice healing buff that's necessary for saving resources and speeding up health recovery;
- Teleportation — replaces dodging with a magical dash. Since you still take damage during rolls, teleportation will be more useful;
- Heavy Plates — increases armor durability by 10%. Suitable for tanks and mages alike, so they don't die from a single failed attack.
Can you play different roles in battle?
There are enough experience points and talent points for a single player to play multiple roles as needed. At any moment, you can return all skill points if you decide you want to change your build or try something different. Additionally, if you have chosen melee combat, we recommend always having a bow and arrows in reserve to activate some mechanisms and solve puzzles, as well as to destroy flying monsters.
How to reset skills
To do this, go to the Flame Altar and select the corresponding option. Resetting will cost 10 runes, which can be obtained by disassembling found weapons in the world or killing enemies. Any weapon starting from green quality can be disassembled. The higher the quality, the more runes you can get.
Best build for a wizard
If you like staves and magic wands with auto-targeting, then you can try a mage in Enshrouded. It has a wide skill tree, but we will highlight the most important skills for you:
- Spirituality — the higher the Flame level, the more intelligence points you get, which is necessary for increasing magic damage;
- Water Aura — helps heal allies near the character. There's a lot of damage in the game, so extra health recovery will not hurt;
- Veil Dispeller — with a 15% chance on attack, increases the time spent in the Veil by 30 seconds. With a special build, you can completely forget about the Veil timer;
- Wizard — increases the crit chance of magical weapons by 15%. With huge base damage, a crit will destroy most enemies with a single charge;
- Pathfinder — even more critical damage and increased stamina, which will be useful for solving puzzles and covering large distances.
You need to have two types of wands: with fire and electric damage. This way, you will be prepared for any situation. The rest of the mage's set can be assembled at the Alchemist and upgraded as you progress.
Best build for a warrior
Despite the increased damage from two-handed weapons, today's skills significantly strengthen one-handed weapons with a shield. If you have healers in your team, you can focus on dealing damage, ignoring other stats. But for a safer build, you can choose the following skills:
- Swift Blades — increase attack speed, allowing for more frequent activation of crits and other effects;
- Purification — increases time spent in the Veil by 5 seconds for each enemy killed. Not as much as for wizards, but it's a noticeable addition in the heat of battle;
- Combat Healing — heals for 5% of maximum health upon dealing a critical hit;
- Water Aura — adds a small passive healing for the whole team. It helps in critical situations when there are many enemies and you can't afford to take any more hits;
- Heavy Hand — makes it easier to stun the enemy, allowing for safe delivery of additional damage.
You need weapons with slashing, piercing, and bludgeoning damage to activate all previously selected skills. The main equipment can be purchased from the Blacksmith and upgraded as needed.
Best build for an archer
Archers have great range but weak accuracy. Everything entirely depends on the player, but even after missing a few shots, you will still remain out of the enemies' reach. Archers have many drawbacks, but with maximum upgrades, they become the main damage dealers in the team, as well as moving quickly across the map. You should choose the following skills:
- The entire Pathfinder branch significantly increases the basic bow attack;
- Multishot — increases the damage dealt, allowing to hit a small group of enemies at once;
- Graceful Step — an additional point of agility for every two levels of Flame;
- Pathfinder — an increase in all stats greatly benefits the archer, enhancing their damage and mobility;
- Water Aura — improving melee combat makes no sense, so you can take passive team healing as an addition.
You need equipment that will increase damage for ranged shots, increase the amount and recovery speed of stamina. The main set is available from the Huntress, but you can mix and match any clothing that gives the necessary stats.
