Enshrouded Update 0.9 Full Guide: All New Features, Changes, and Patch Notes
In Enshrouded, a major update has been released, adding a new water biome located in the north of the map. The location is designed for the late game, for players from level 35 and above. In addition, many features have been reworked and two-handed swords have been added. In this material, we will look at new mechanics, important innovations, and interaction with the water resource.
Features of Water Interaction
Every player can swim and dive from the start, and has a certain oxygen supply. To increase the duration of diving, you need to equip suitable gear and cook food using the updated recipes. Players cannot attack underwater, so it is necessary to lure enemies onto land or avoid open confrontations.
Water is an interactive object. Using tools, you can create entire ponds and channels for irrigating fields. At the early stages, you can use the Water Orb to collect water. After creating it, throw it on the ground to fill a small pond. Later, you can craft a watering can at the blacksmith and use it to create water landscapes.
Fishing
A new activity has been added — fishing. In the water, you can catch regular fish for cooking, crafting materials, and also rare useful items. Regular fish can be found in any body of water and caught with a basic fishing rod and bait. For more valuable catches, look for large open water areas and swirls with fish clusters, which indicate a rare fishing spot.
The first fishing rod can be crafted independently without auxiliary devices. Fishing gear is created at the huntress Atalan Skri after completing a series of her quests. In addition, a new survivor has appeared, who can be found in the water biome. He specializes in fishing and will help improve your tool, as well as open access to rarer gear.
Building with Water
The game has added new tools and structures that allow you to move and interact with water. Water can be used to rotate water wheels to power new crafting factories. Many auxiliary devices have also been added to help properly distribute the water flow.
Thanks to water now being part of the world, new types of crops have appeared that can only grow underwater.
New Biome — Veilwater Basin
A new biome has been added for high-level players. A dense tropical forest located in the north between mountains hides ancient ruins and dark secrets. Players have access to many new quests with additional rewards. Most puzzles and unique rewards are hidden underwater.
New enemies have appeared with their own set of attacks. In addition, many unique resources can be found on the trees and on the ground, which opens access to items, recipes, building blocks, armor, plant seeds, and decorative elements for players.
New Maximum Level and Equipment Items
The new maximum level for the Flameborn is now 45. Rewards have been updated — more powerful versions of all weapon types will drop from enemies and chests. Lore weapons can now be freely crafted at any level after being unlocked.
A new armor tier is available. In the water biome, new armor is available both as sets and as separate pieces tailored for specific gameplay goals. Skills for each class have been expanded, adding more variety. Mages have access to additional spells, and archers get a new type of arrow.
New Weapon Type — Two-Handed Swords
A new weapon type has been added to the game — two-handed sword, which can be found from level one in chests. New armor enhancements, skills, and potions that boost the effects have been added for this weapon.
Balance Update
Weapons, shields, armor, rings, and food buffs have been seriously reworked. Parameters have been adjusted so that damage matches the visual style. The durability of all weapons has been increased, and they now scale nicely with level and rarity.
Overall regeneration speed has been reduced, but now more items affect this stat, opening up new build possibilities. More weapons now drop from enemies. In addition, rarity can be of any quality, up to legendary.
Treasure Chest Rework
The drop chances for rare items in all treasure chests have been changed. The higher the chest rarity, the more valuable the items inside. In addition, silver and gold chests now drop an extra item.
Treasure chests can no longer be opened an infinite number of times. After the first opening, they will remain that way in the created world forever, even if you re-enter the game.
Flood Protection Feature
The Flame Altar now has a new function: Remove Water. You can use it to remove all artificial water from your base (up to the yellow marker). This will help if you accidentally flooded your house or miscalculated the amount of water.
There is always an oxygen bubble around the Flame Altar, providing safety during teleportation and helping with underwater adventures.
