Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: The King's Gambit Walkthrough

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Henry embarks on a daring adventure to uncover King Sigismund's future plans. He plans to infiltrate the royal council by pretending to be a server. In our guide, we will tell you which responses will help boost your reputation and how to easily infiltrate the royal council as part of the quest The King's Gambit.
Learn from Mintmaster Vavak how to infiltrate the city council
At the entrance to the building marked on the map in Kuttenberg, there will be a guard. Dress in nice clothes and respond to him so that he does not delay you. This will slightly decrease your reputation, but you will be able to pass. If you don't want to lose reputation, enter through the back entrance. Sometimes this door may be locked with a simple lock.
During the day, you may not find Vavak, so if you manage to get inside, wait until night. In this case, he will be lying on the bed in his room. In the conversation, choose the following options:
- "I wish to get acquainted with high society."
- "Deal" (you can choose a skill check, but this will lead to a decrease in reputation).
Then inquire about the guy who is supposed to serve at the meeting. The task will update.
Obtain the royal server's outfit. Obtain the royal server's certificate
We did not separate these tasks into different points, as you can complete them immediately during the conversation with a guy named Franta Kuldaun. For this, head to the Kuttenberg market and find the tailor. Here are the available options:
- Buy the clothes for 2000 groschen. In this case, you will have to obtain the certificate yourself.
- Wait for Franta at the tailor's and convince him to give you the clothes and certificate.
If you chose the second option, select the following responses:
- "I'll do all the work."
- Skill check "Persuasion" or "Impression" (if you don't want to pay the guy).
- "Yes."
To pass the "Persuasion" skill check, you will need to purchase nice clothes. This way, you will save a lot of groschen, as in case of failure, the man will demand 1000 groschen for the outfit and certificate.
Serve the Kuttenberg councilors
Head to the nearby building and find the Majordomo on the ground floor. Put on the server's outfit and say that you will work instead of Franta:
- "I am the new royal server."
- "He's sick (He's drunk)."
- "I'd be happy to learn."
- "Stay behind."
- "I got it."
You will find yourself in a room with the councilors, where you will have to perform the duties of a server. On the table, there are two jugs: with red (monastic) and white (Tokay) wine. When one of the councilors wants wine, they will call for the hero. If you didn't hear or want to make sure which wine to bring, it's better to ask again.
Additionally, do not pour wine for the man named Adam, who sits at the end of the table on the left. When he tries to call you over, respond that you were forbidden to do so.
Bring the confiscated goblet to Richter Plümel
At some point, the hero will be called over by the Richter. He will ask you to go to the office to find the confiscated goblet. Simply walk through the chapel and enter the only door here. The goblet will be lying on the table.
Find and bring Franz Rosenthal's gloves
Examine the chapel — the gloves will be lying on the prayer table. The lord will also order you to count how many creatures with wings are depicted on the fresco. If you count only the angels, you get 16 figures with wings. But this is the wrong answer, as there are other creatures on the fresco as well. However, your answer will not affect the plot since Rosenthal himself does not know the correct answer.
Soon the king will arrive, and the game will transport you to the Ratborz fortress.
Meet the guests
Go around and meet all the guests. Be sure to talk to Brabant and the rabbi. Once you do this, the task will update.
Gain the support of Gaman Alder
Proceed to the next hall and interact with Gaman Alder. Father Martin of Boguta will intervene in the conversation. If you choose harsh responses, his younger son will challenge you to a duel. This will activate the activity "Defeat Krystof in a duel".
The guy is not a very strong opponent, so defeating him won't be a problem. When you do this, choose the following options:
- "I was in the war."
- "He's always been like this."
- "The outcome of the war depends on this."
- "Do I have a choice?"
Thus, the younger brother of Boguta will try to persuade Gaman Alder to side with you.
Get support from Boček of Kunštát
Head to the second floor. Boček will be waiting in the hall next to the kitchen. In the conversation with him, choose:
- "How can I convince you?"
- "I understand."
- "What about young Lord Ptacek?"
- "He is young, but he has plenty of experience."
- "I will pass your proposal to Lord Ptacek."
The old man does not want you to discuss marriage with the young lord, so go down to the courtyard and find Lord Hanush. He won't mind but will ask you not to tell Jan about it for now.
Gain the support of Anna Waldstein
Anna Waldstein is sitting in the main hall next to the rabbi. She will agree to consider your proposal for an alliance if you can swap some manuscripts in Gaman Alder's saddlebags.
Go down to the courtyard and proceed to the far part of the stables. There is a single door here, occasionally guarded by Alder's subject. Wait for him to leave, go inside, and close the door. The saddlebags are on the table — swap the papers and return to Anna.
Talk to Liechtenstein about the agreed support
Return to Johann and tell him what you managed to achieve during your search for allies. The game will once again send us to the Kuttenberg town hall.
Serve King Sigismund of Luxembourg
Listen to the king's negotiations with Aulitz and promptly serve the wine. The first few times, Sigismund will ask for red wine, and finally, he will mention white wine. When the king drinks to your health, press the corresponding key and thank him. To avoid revealing yourself, choose "To victory!" in the final dialogue.
