The first paid expansion for Starfield, titled Shattered Space, will be available in the fall of 2024. This was announced by Todd Howard on the Kinda Funny Gamescast podcast.
The game designer did not share any new details about the expansion. It is known that Shattered Space will be a story DLC that will introduce new locations, quests, gear, and more to the RPG. Starfield premium edition owners will receive it for free.
Todd Howard also noted that Bethesda is working on a modding tool and major patches that will, among other things, add city maps and additional difficulty levels.
Bethesda previously released a next-gen update for Fallout 4.
