Many still remember the overwhelming hype that surrounded its launch, followed by the turning point when excitement gave way to disappointment and frustration over the game’s issues. CD Projekt RED did not abandon the project and spent several years actively releasing patches. The culmination arrived with Update 2.0 and the Phantom Liberty expansion, which ultimately salvaged the game’s reputation. They launched back in 2023, yet even after that Cyberpunk 2077 continued to receive updates. The fact that the game today is vastly superior to its launch version is no secret.
