NVIDIA Delays RTX 5060 Release

NVIDIA has made changes to the release schedule for the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti and RTX 5060 graphics cards, according to insider reports. While the cards were initially expected to launch in March, the debut has now been pushed back by at least a month and a half. The reasons for the delay remain unclear, but analysts attribute it to the need for additional testing, architecture optimization, and possible production chain challenges.

According to sources from the Chinese forum Board Channels, the RTX 5060 Ti, available in 8GB and 16GB GDDR7 configurations, will debut no earlier than mid-April. The base RTX 5060 model, per the updated schedule, will arrive a month later, by mid-May. Interestingly, this delay might coincide with the release of AMD's Radeon RX 9060 and RX 9060 XT, which are expected to be announced in Q2. Both companies are rumored to be preparing cards with similar memory configurations, heightening the competition.

Despite the lack of official details, insiders have revealed key specs for the new cards. The RTX 5060 Ti is expected to feature 4608 CUDA cores and a 128-bit bus, while the RTX 5060 will have 3840 cores. Both models will use GDDR7 memory, though rumors of a 12GB version of the RTX 5060 have not been confirmed. Experts note that 8GB of VRAM might become a weak point for the base model as gaming demands rise, but they do not rule out the possibility of updated versions being released later.

Analysts suggest that the delay could affect pricing, especially given currency fluctuations. Additionally, the shift in schedule removes NVIDIA's first-mover advantage over AMD, whose RX 9060 series could capture audience attention if they launch on time. The company has yet to comment on the situation, leaving room for further speculation. An official announcement is likely to come during the GTC 2025 or GDC 2025 conferences, but exact dates remain uncertain.
