NVIDIA App Exits Beta: DLSS 4.5 Support and New Game & Debugging Settings
The stable version of the NVIDIA App 11.0.6 graphics management utility has started rolling out to users. The key addition in this update is full support for the DLSS 4.5 Super Resolution image clarity technology on GeForce RTX 20, 30, 40, and 50 series graphics cards. The feature is activated via the DLSS Override settings section within the app. Users can apply the new presets either to individual games or globally; the technology is currently officially supported in over 400 games.
The updated AI model requires significantly more computational resources. Tests show that on Ampere (RTX 30) and especially Turing (RTX 20) architecture cards, enabling DLSS 4.5 can lead to a more noticeable drop in frame rates compared to using previous DLSS versions. The best performance and image quality are achieved on the latest RTX 40 and RTX 50 series cards, which feature hardware support for the FP4 compute format.
NVIDIA App version 11.0.6 also includes a number of other changes. Developers have completed the migration of core functions from the classic NVIDIA Control Panel, adding the remaining settings for NVIDIA Surround technology for multi-monitor configurations to the app. For troubleshooting, a "Debug Mode" has been added, which temporarily disables all overclocks and voltage adjustments until the next computer restart. Laptop owners with Advanced Optimus now see the full names of applications that may block switching between integrated and discrete graphics.
The list of games compatible with the DLSS Override feature has been expanded by 77 titles. These include new releases like Anno 117: Pax Romana and Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and optimal graphics settings have been added for 10 new games. The update also fixes several bugs, including an issue with the overlay disappearing after changing screen resolution and a problem with recording bitrate settings being reset.
In the spring of 2026, NVIDIA plans to release the next major app update, which will add support for Multi Frame Generation 6x technology for boosting frame rates.
