I play mostly on PC, PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch 2. My favorite genres are survival horror, souls-like, and RPGs. Favorite games: Bloodborne and Vampire: The Masquerade — Bloodlines. Favorite series: Resident Evil. For me, gameplay is key — a good story won’t save dull mechanics. At least, in most cases.

Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era Preview — Early Access Impressions
To be honest, I was somewhat surprised to learn that Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era would launch in Early Access rather than straight into version 1.0. The reason was that last year the game received a content-rich demo that already felt like Early Access at the time. It also immediately came across as a quality product that only needed some minor polishing. Nevertheless, the developers decided not to rush the final release and chose the path of full-fledged Early Access instead, which speaks to their commitment to the project. The same can be seen in how seriously they treat community feedback: many weak points of the demo have been improved. That means the rough edges of Early Access will almost certainly be smoothed out in a similar way over the coming months.

Subnautica 2 Preview — First Impressions from Early Access
There was a time when I played so many survival games that I almost lost interest in the genre altogether. Still, the original Subnautica impressed me so much that I would call it not just the most interesting game of its kind, but also one of the most memorable and important games overall. That is exactly why I, along with hundreds of thousands of other fans, had been waiting so impatiently for a full-fledged sequel. The moment has finally arrived: Subnautica 2 is now available in early access on PC and Xbox Series X/S. Time will tell whether it can surpass the original, but I am ready to share my first impressions right now — after spending time with the preview version.

Saros Review — A Lovecraftian Nightmare Wrapped in a Laser Show
Saros is the spiritual sequel to Returnal, one of the best PS5 games, which sadly never managed to break into the mainstream. Calling it a commercial failure would not be fair either: Returnal sold more than 800 000 copies in its first year and later expanded its audience through PS Plus and the PC version. Still, by Sony’s standards, it remained a fairly niche release, and far from every buyer actually saw it through to the end. Returnal pushed many players away with its high barrier to entry, unusual blend of genres, unconventional narrative, and melancholic atmosphere, but those same elements made it one of the most memorable PlayStation exclusives of the current generation. Saros, the new game from Finnish studio Housemarque, tries to appeal to a wider audience without sacrificing its identity. Let’s see how well it succeeds.

Best Games for Steam Deck, Asus ROG Ally, Lenovo Legion Go in 2026
Handheld PCs like Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally are rapidly gaining popularity, but in 2026 more and more games refuse to run well on them without serious graphical compromises. That is why we decided to prepare a selection of the best games for modern handheld PCs — projects that do not force players to seriously sacrifice visual quality for optimal performance.

As generative AI-content continues to grow in popularity, so-called “AI slop” is becoming increasingly common. The term has been circulating on the internet for quite some time, but over the past month it has been mentioned far more frequently — after NVIDIA showcased a new version of DLSS that gamers quickly labeled as AI slop. I’ve played 350 hours of Darktide — and I’m convinced Warhammer 40K is better without Space Marines
Last week, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide received another major update: this time, the developers added a new mode in the style of extraction shooters. Overall, the project’s support over the past year has been genuinely encouraging. The Swedish studio Fatshark has never been known for fast development cycles, but it seems they’ve finally found their rhythm. Darktide, which players initially received rather coldly at launch due to numerous issues, is transforming and beginning to reveal its full potential. At the same time, I believe that even with all its objective shortcomings, Fatshark’s title already outclassed other co-op games right from the start. In its current state, even more so — it’s the most engaging shooter for a group of friends and the most successful adaptation of Warhammer 40,000. What exactly makes the game special? That’s what this article is about.

To mark the anniversary of Resident Evil, let’s break down what makes the franchise so special.

A Rival to GTA 6? Why So Many Gamers Are Looking Forward to Crimson Desert
The internet has long been fascinated with Crimson Desert, but as the release approaches, the buzz surrounding the project keeps growing. Pearl Abyss — the studio behind the MMO Black Desert — has been working on this ambitious single-player game for many years. Throughout that time, the developers have periodically released stunning gameplay footage and showcased new features on top of numerous previously announced mechanics. The project was quickly dubbed the Korean counterpart to The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Red Dead Redemption 2, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild — and some even describe it as a fusion of these iconic titles. Let’s take a closer look at what exactly makes Crimson Desert one of the most anticipated releases of recent years.

Do You Need a Console After All? What We Know About PlayStation’s Return to Traditional Exclusives
Over the past several years, the gaming industry has undergone a fundamental shift: Microsoft and Sony began actively releasing their AAA blockbusters on PC. For a long time, both companies viewed only each other’s consoles as direct competitors, while computers became an additional source of revenue. Naturally, PC players benefited from this situation — to the point where it was even possible to question whether a PS5 or Xbox Series X was necessary if you already owned at least a mid-range PC build. However, the situation may soon start moving in the opposite direction. According to recent rumors, the era of exclusives could be returning. Here’s what is known so far.

Resident Evil Requiem Review — The Culmination of a 30-Year Franchise
The ninth Resident Evil is a project that only a series with a long history, dozens of experiments, and several shifts in creative direction could have produced. Resident Evil Requiem was conceived as a gift to fans: much like Umbrella Corporation’s bioengineers creating unstoppable mutants, Capcom’s developers selected the most striking ideas and references from past entries and combined them into a special anniversary title celebrating thirty years of the franchise. The game is not flawless, but it draws intelligently on nostalgia and accumulated experience to reward longtime fans.

First Impressions of Resident Evil Requiem — An Intriguing Balancing Act Between Horror and Action
The paradox of Resident Evil Requiem is that it feels both like something new and refreshing — and at the same time like a return to the series’ roots. While Resident Evil 7 and Resident Evil Village boldly experimented with the formula and settings to the point where they could almost be mistaken for spin-offs, Requiem pulls classic zombies out of the closet, dusts off beloved characters, dives headfirst into references to the old days, and continues the main storyline, which, broadly speaking, hasn’t truly progressed since Resident Evil 6. It’s this pivot back to the franchise’s foundations that sets the project apart from recent numbered entries. As does Requiem’s unusual dual nature: essentially, it’s two games in one. At least that’s the impression after the first four hours of play.

On January 30, the largest batch of documents related to the investigation into trafficker and sexual abuser Jeffrey Epstein was released: more than 3 million pages, hundreds of thousands of images, and thousands of videos. This is a long-term archive compiled by investigators examining Epstein’s activities and the “elite circle” of clients he created — including testimonies, letters, and contact lists. The files mention many well-known politicians and public figures. But they also reference some companies and individuals connected to the gaming industry. Who exactly, and in what context? Will the Epic Games Store die this year? What’s happening to the platform that set out to become a “second Steam”?
Epic Games launched its store back in 2018. The project was originally conceived as Steam’s main competitor: Tim Sweeney’s company had sufficient resources to challenge Valve and try to disrupt its dominance as the primary seller of games on PC. Players reacted to the initiative with a mixed response, and Epic had to endure not only criticism of its strategy for years, but at times outright hostility from gamers. Despite this, has the company managed to grow the store? It has not become a Steam killer — that is no secret — but has Epic Games Store found a stable way to expand its audience? Or are things so bad that it may not last long? Lets dive in.

Was it worth the six-year wait? First impressions of Pragmata
Yesterday Capcom released a demo version of Pragmata for all current consoles: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2 (the PC trial version came out back in December). Launching a demo months ahead of release is a rather unusual move. Still, it makes sense: more than any other project from the Japanese company, Pragmata needs broader exposure. The game was announced back in 2020 and for a long time remained a dark horse in Capcom’s portfolio. We played through it several times and are ready to share our impressions.
