The game's beginning was very promising—good graphics and a twisting plot promised a good game. But the awkward controls, the impossibility of progressing without cheats (bosses just kill you without any options), and the sheer nonsense of everything that happens simply ruined the game. I don't understand those who liked it.

A dog's dream within a dog's dream, laced with the finest schizophrenia. Sam Lake fancies himself a writer and director, but he's completely inept at writing stories. The result, Alan Wake 2, is a game in which literally everything is mediocre except the visuals. The plot—my respects, it's a nutcase that even the master of nuttiness, Kojima, would envy. The gameplay—is there even any? A walking simulator with clumsy attempts at horror. The game design? It's nonexistent, a mindless jumble of puzzles in disjointed settings. The flashbacks to the investigations are especially infuriating, serving no purpose or impact on the storyline.
