The Curse of Blood returns to the Castlevania universe in a modern 2D action format with a focus on world exploration from the creators of Dead Cells. The events unfold in 1499, 23 years after Dracula's Curse: medieval Paris is ablaze, and monsters emerge from the darkness. The heir of Trevor Belmont, armed with the legendary whip "Vampire Killer," sets off from the fire-ravaged streets of the city to a sinister castle to stop the impending doom.
The combat system revolves around the whip, which is used not only for attacks but also for movement, allowing for the combination of strikes and acrobatic maneuvers. Various types of weapons and abilities complement the arsenal, requiring a thoughtful approach in battles and careful exploration of the grim locations.
