Cities XXL is a continuation of the realistic city-planning simulator with an isometric camera view from the creators of City Life. The game offers a completely different level of detail in cities than in similar games. The game has more than a hundred unique buildings, simply huge maps and a well-developed online mode where you can interact with thousands of other players.

Reviews and ratings
It seems that the plot and the possibility of modding are not bad, but the implementation SPOILED everything: very poor optimization; extremely inconvenient keyboard control combinations that cannot be changed, the Online mode canceled by the developer, all this and much more spoils the overall impression of the game.
More than 20 years later, no one except, of course, Colossal Order, which released City Skyline, has been able to release even something similar to this game.
Вроде бы и не плохой сюжет и возможность модинга , но реализация всё ИСПОРТИЛА : очень плохая оптимизация ; крайне неудобные комбинации управления клавиатуры которые нельзя изменить ,отменённый разработчиком режим Оnline, все это и многое другое портит общее впечатление игры.
Спустя более 20 лет никто кроме конечно Colossal Order выпустившую City Skyline не смог выпустить даже что то похожее на эту игру.
