Cooking Mama is a cooking simulator about learning recipes and experimenting with ingredient combinations. The player prepares food and cooks it on the stove, using a stylus to chop, mix, fry, mash and handle ingredients in other ways. The game features 76 dishes, while mastering the first 15 recipes unlocks 61 additional recipes of increasing complexity.
Cooking is divided into more than 200 mini-games, and finished dishes can be arranged and cooled by blowing into a microphone. Recipes can be combined to create more advanced dishes, and both recipes and saved games can be shared with other players. Cooking quality is graded with bronze, silver or gold medals, while Practice mode lets players work on their skills without being judged.
