Crimson Skies

Crimson Skies — the history of the universe includes both fictional and real events that took place in the world. The separation of the stories of the fictional world and the real one begins after the First World War, when regionalism, strengthened by isolationism, begins to gain political strength in the United States. The threat of the Spanish flu pandemic, brought in by soldiers returning from war, leads to border closures.

Following the stock market crash and the onset of the Great Depression, Texas declares its secession from the United States and the formation of the Republic of Texas on January 1, 1930. Next, New York is seceded, to which Pennsylvania and New Jersey join, forming together the Imperial State. They were followed by California, now called the Hollywood Nation, and Utah, which was already in conflict with the central government over the adoption of Mormonism as the state's official religion, which clearly violated the First Amendment.
