Behavior and reaction tweaks for a more immersive gameplay General crowd tweaks:
- Naked checks:
- Most NPCs react when they see a nude V, with some exceptions (e.g., homeless or poor NPCs);
- Reactions include comments and walking away from the player;
- NCPD and gang members enter "early detection" mode, keeping a close eye on a naked V but not escalating unless provoked;
- Cyberware level affects NPC reactions to nudity (for example, a fully borged naked V causes increased crowd alarm).
Armed presence:
- Carrying heavy weapons (sniper, rifle, shotgun) in corpo areas like Corpo Plaza, City Center, etc. triggers early detection from police and armed NPCs (does not escalate to combat unless provoked);
- Even just being armed slightly increases the chance of being detected by armed NPCs;
- Scanning armed NPCs within their field of view also slightly increases detection chance;
- Military clothing slightly increases overall detection chance.
Vehicle reactions:
- NPCs actively dodge the player's vehicle when you honk while driving on the pavement (you must be driving completely on the pavement);
- Drunk driving triggers early detection from NCPD (does not escalate to combat unless provoked);
- NPC drivers no longer panic from minor bumps. Panic remains only for high-velocity hits;
- Weaponized vehicles slightly increase detection chance from all armed NPCs;
- NPC drivers comment and sometimes honk back if you honk at them;
- Vehicles with Crystal Dome decrease detection chance.
Other NPC reaction tweaks:
- NPCs flee in panic if you have 4 or more wanted stars;
- Repeatedly bumping into NCPD officers or Barghest soldiers can provoke combat;
- Rich and corpo NPCs look at you with disgust if you wear poor or cheap clothing (facial reaction only);
- Disguise system.
Clothing affiliation:
- NPCs react to your outfit depending on its gang or corporation affiliation;
- Wearing gang-affiliated clothes decreases detection chance by allies and increases it for rivals. Modded clothes are also supported — learn more here;
- NCPD clothing increases detection rates from all gangs;
- NCPD clothing directly provokes combat with Barghest soldiers in Dog Town;
- Affiliation is calculated based on all equipped items, including vanilla and modded clothes, as well as Equipment-Ex slots (if installed);
- Detection multiplier stacks per slot (head: 15%, face: 10%, outer chest: 12.5%, inner chest: 12.5%, legs: 10%), with the total detection chance varying up to +/- 60%. For example, wearing Mox-affiliated clothes increases detection rate from Tyger Claws. Tyger Claws clothes, on the other hand, decrease detection rate among their own and increase it among rival gangs (Mox, Maelstrom, or 6th Street in Charter Hill).
Vehicle affiliation:
- Driving gang-affiliated vehicles affects detection rates by allied and rival gangs;
- Vehicle affiliation changes detection chance by +/- 30%.
