This first-person multiplayer horror game unfolds in a dark world surrounding the mansion of tycoon William Huxley, where ghosts hunt the living. Players take the side of either humans or ghosts: humans try to survive, find artifacts, and uncover secrets, while ghosts pursue them.
Across several modes and nine maps, stealth, survival, and teamwork are central; in The Hunted mode, humans can fight back against the undead using firearms. Both sides have a selection of characters and special abilities suited to different playstyles.
