What I didn't expect from the TellTale guys was a decent game. And imagine my surprise when I discovered Dispatch. The animation and style are simply magnificent; it's literally an interactive cartoon. Admittedly, the interactivity is so-so, but that's TellTale, and no one expects anything less. The "character will remember this" meme is true.

But what's truly pleasing (besides the visuals) is the story. It's presented without unnecessary show-off or pathos; the main character is a typical wimp, not a superhero destroying everything in his path. The story develops gradually, immersing the player in the plot. The dispatch minigame is frankly stuffy in places, but there are basically no other gameplay moments in Dispatch. You have to make do with what you have. It is an interactive movie, after all. After playing this game, I even decided to revisit TellTale's old projects and binge-watched a couple of them.

One significant drawback is the lack of a mobile version. You can use an emulator, but workarounds are always a bad thing.
