Droid Assault is a top-down arcade shooter set in a futuristic world where the player battles hordes of killer robots. Its 50 levels feature destructible scenery, mines and turrets, with 48 types of enemy robots ranging from basic Guardbots to Assassins, Special Ops units and Battledroids.
A transfer beam lets the player capture droids and assemble a squad. The robots can wield lasers, rockets, grenades, flamethrowers and disruptors, while 17 types of power-up improve their abilities. Giant robotic bosses also appear throughout the levels.
