This mod can improve performance if you play on a weaker CPU.
This mod is designed to optimize performance by reducing the number of zombies on screen and shortening the distance at which enemies can despawn. Logically, this can help any PC, but the mod is intended for and will have the most effect on CPUs weaker than Intel i5-13400F / AMD Ryzen 7 5800X. If you have a powerful CPU or your GPU is the bottleneck, this mod probably won't help much, but you can still give it a try. Yes, fewer zombies mean fewer polygons, but that hardly matters in this case.
Why does this work: the new gore system, while cool, puts a heavy load on the CPU. So, reducing the number of zombies on screen noticeably lowers CPU usage, which boosts FPS and especially helps with stutters and makes the game smoother.
How to install:
- Place the data.pak file into \Dying Light — The Beast\ph_ft\source. If you already have other mods installed, make sure to rename the file with the next available number. For example: if you already have data.pak0, data.pak1, data.pak3, you need to name the new file data.pak4.
