A settlement-management strategy game set in the ruins of a world where civilisation has fallen and scattered survivors are trying to rebuild humanity. The player manages limited resources and building space, recruits characters, develops their skills and advances from the Stone Age to the Space Age through research and the settlement of new lands.

Characters can specialise in different skills and crafts, create items and equipment, while settlements develop skills that benefit them all. People living outside the settlements can be aided in return for diplomacy points. Exploring the world reveals more about the Blight and brings encounters with monsters and bosses; failed attempts at dangerous challenges hasten humanity’s downfall.
