Far Beyond: A space odyssey VR is a science-fiction roguelike simulator about the last survivor of an extinct civilization travelling through space in search of a habitable planet. The journey involves plotting a course through hyperspace and scheduling refuelling stops on a galactic map.

The player monitors the ship’s autonomy and oxygen recycling system, scans planets and extracts resources. Extravehicular probes are used for this work and must be repaired and maintained; worn parts can be recycled, and probe components upgraded. Resource management, crafting and strategic planning form the core of the gameplay.
