A free open-source flight simulator developed since 1996 by a community of enthusiasts and developers from around the world. The project is distributed under the GNU GPL license, and its open architecture allows for continuous expansion of aircraft, maps, and other features.
The simulator is based on mathematical models of flight dynamics, providing realistic aircraft behavior. Players have access to a large collection of aircraft — from historic planes and Cessna 172 to passenger Boeing 777, fighters, and helicopters. The simulation system covers the entire planet with cities, mountains, airports, runways, and navigation objects.
