In vanilla Gothic 1 Remake, food restores a flat amount of health. A piece of cheese restoring 7 HP is great when you only have 100 HP, but once you are sitting on 300+ HP, most food in your inventory becomes completely useless trash.

FoodRework solves this by making food scale dynamically with your maximum HP and Mana. This ensures a humble meal is always worth eating, without turning it into an overpowered god-mode button.

Main Features:

  • Smart Food Scaling: Food values scale according to your maximum HP/Mana pools. To maintain balance, the healing rate per tick stays vanilla while only the overall duration is stretched. This positions food as out-of-combat sustain rather than a mid-fight burst heal.
  • Potion Scaling Option: Potions remain completely vanilla by default, but you can optionally enable scaling formulas for them as well.
  • Swampweed Tweak: Includes an optional setting to make the smoking visual and time-dilation high last longer.
  • Vanilla Safe: No item will ever heal less than its baseline vanilla amount. If you disable or delete the mod, everything immediately reverts to standard vanilla values.

Scaling Modes:

You can easily toggle between two different calculation logics inside the configuration settings:

  • Default Mode (Curve): Weak food items receive a noticeable percentage boost to remain relevant, while high-tier strong foods barely alter their original behavior.
  • Alternative Mode (Groups): Food is grouped into Weak, Medium, and Strong tiers based on its original vanilla metrics. Items will restore their flat vanilla amount plus an adjustable percentage of your maximum stats.

Installation instructions:

  1. UE4SS must be installed prior to using this mod.
  2. Extract the downloaded .zip archive and copy the FoodRework folder into your directory:
    ...\ue4ss\Mods\
  3. Optional: Install SharedModMenu to gain access to an in-game settings configuration overlay (accessed by pressing F2 by default).
