By default, the domestic Scavenger — the only rideable mount available within the Gothic 1 Remake engine — moves at a frustratingly sluggish pace. Mount Speed Control remedies this by applying a clean, fully configurable velocity multiplier to the creature, making long-distance traversal across the rugged terrain of the Colony genuinely enjoyable.

Main Features:

  • Snappier Travel Loops: Noticeably accelerates your mount's baseline movement cycles while keeping character and creature tracking animations fluid and natural.
  • Streamlined Single-Value Tuning: The configuration framework is boiled down to a single editable scale value. Adjust it to any parameter starting from 1.0 (vanilla) up to your personal preference.
  • Zero-Footprint Execution: A lightweight runtime Lua asset script driven by UE4SS that hooks safely into movement states without baking data into your save progression or altering primary core game files.

Configuration Guide:

You can manually adjust the velocity threshold to tailor your open-world experience:

  1. Navigate into the mod folder and locate the MountSpeed.ini file (situated right next to the Scripts directory slot).
  2. Open it with any standard text editor and locate this specific string line:
    SpeedModifier=1.3
  3. Modify the numeric property to fit your balance needs:
1.0 — Hard-locks the speed back to the native vanilla balancing rules.
1.3 — Mod default parameter (noticeably swifter, yet visually coherent and stable).
2.0 — Doubles the original creature speed limits.
  4. Save the document and re-launch the game application.

Installation instructions:

  1. Ensure the UE4SS framework is properly set up and active for Gothic 1 Remake.
  2. Download and extract the package archive layout.
  3. Copy the extracted MountSpeed folder straight into your active mods directory path at:
    ...\Gothic 1 Remake\G1R\Binaries\Win64\ue4ss\Mods\
  4. Launch the game normally — the engine script will automatically initialize during the boot phase.
