A side-scrolling strategy game that combines real-time battles with base defense, Guns Up has players send troops to attack other players’ fortifications while building defenses of their own. During combat, players can issue orders to soldiers and deploy special attacks, smoke screens, and bombing runs. Battles are asynchronous, with replays of attacks on a base and opportunities to retaliate.
Loot earned in battle unlocks new soldier classes, which can be upgraded and customized. Soldiers gain veterancy and can take part in multiple battles or defend a base, while medals permanently improve unit stats. Players can also form alliances and compete against other groups for loot.
