A foundational mod loader for How to Fish that enables custom, community-created islands. Loaded maps support full gameplay systems: interactive trading and dialogue NPCs, functioning shops with price tags, boat handling, wildlife spawns, and venues like casinos.
Two Island Types:
- Replacement Islands: Substitute one of the five base-game islands. The in-game map indicates which slot is replaced, borrowing all native NPCs, shops, and campaign progression so everything functions identically to the original.
- Required files: mapname.bundle and mapname.json placed in HTFMaps.
- Added Islands: Standalone brand-new locations anchored in open water that overwrite nothing. They appear on the radar in distinct colors with dedicated NPCs, vendors, and creature spawns.
- Zero Progression Impact: Requires no story milestones to explore and never modifies savegame unlock flags.
- Required files: mapname.island and mapname.json placed in HTFExtraIslands.
Installation:
- Install BepInEx 5 (x64) into your How to Fish game folder, launch the game once, and quit.
- Place HTFMapLoader.dll into:
How to Fish/BepInEx/plugins/ - Drop the downloaded island files into their target directories:
- Replacement islands: How to Fish/BepInEx/plugins/HTFMaps/
- Standalone added islands: How to Fish/BepInEx/plugins/HTFExtraIslands/
- Launch the game.
