This isometric role-playing game is set in a dark fantasy land where, after famine, plague, and a rain of fire, the protagonist becomes an inquisitor tasked with investigating crimes against the faith. The story unfolds in Ultherst, whose people have turned from the Church to pagan beliefs or the temptation of the Devil. Its themes include betrayal, madness, and the consequences of abusing power.

The player gathers evidence, accuses suspects, and puts them on trial, using torture to extract confessions. Three classes are available—Paladin, Priest, and Thief—each with an independent story. The open world includes towns, forests, and multilevel dungeons, while combat draws on weapons and spells from several schools of magic.
