A movie studio management simulation in which the player takes charge of a new company and competes against seven computer-controlled studios. The goal is to succeed within the allotted time by outpacing rivals in turnover, profit or film awards.
Each turn represents a week. The player manages the budget, chooses a film genre, hires a screenwriter and director, develops the screenplay and negotiates with stars. The work continues with handling on-set problems, overseeing post-production and planning a film’s release, including publicity, test screenings, cinema bookings, international distribution and later sales to television and DVD. Each stage is presented as a separate mini-game, and decisions affect box-office results.
