NHL 2K6 is a hockey simulation built around controlling a team on the ice and creating attacks with the ProControl passing system. Combined passing and shooting inputs support give-and-go plays, one-touch passing sequences and attacks from behind the net.
During a match, players can adjust team strategy on the fly, sending attackers to the net, screening the goalie or pinching defensemen. On defense, they can clear the crease and zone or set up a breakout. Physical play can lower opponents’ performance ratings, while the right analog stick controls quick saves. The game also features new animations, including saves by Marty Turco.
