This educational adventure unfolds in a 3D world during the Viking Age, following Erik from childhood through adulthood to his death. As Christianity arrives in the North and trade brings contact with distant peoples, he sets out to become a true Viking and claim his place as a chieftain.

The player makes decisions, talks to characters, completes quests, fights enemies and seeks favorable trade deals. Exploring the world also reveals hidden coins and opportunities to earn gold by spotting historical anachronisms, while the favor of the gods can aid Erik on his journey. The game also features minigames.
