The player controls Nomali and her team to retrieve African artifacts taken to Western museums. As you progress, you need to plan and prepare heists, solve puzzles, select suitable team members, and devise escape routes.
The action takes place in the future, with the team's base located in South Africa, featuring urban locations in Johannesburg reimagined through an afrofuturistic lens. In the game, you will return 70 real artifacts that hold cultural, historical, and spiritual significance for the peoples of Africa, and Nomali's dynamic parkour escape makes each heist feel like a movie scene.
