The game's plot unfolds in an alternate New York City of the 1920s, where the jazz age, Prohibition, and Art Deco are closely intertwined with a secret world of magic, ancient monsters, and mythical beings. The main character of the story is a young and ambitious sorceress, Ellie Myers. She arrives in the dazzling metropolis hoping to fulfill her dream and build a career as a professional jazz singer. However, her plans are shattered when she accidentally encounters the supernatural underbelly of the city and attracts the attention of dangerous forces.
The game's combat system revolves around the use of magic and the creation of spectacular combo attacks. Ellie will not fight enemies alone: she will be aided in battle by summoned fantastic beasts, making the gameplay more varied.
