A theme park management simulation in which the player builds attractions and works to keep the business profitable. RollerCoaster Tycoon lets players design their own roller coasters, complete with loops and barrel rolls, or select pre-built layouts; the trains’ motion is simulated with physics. Parks can also feature monorails, water rides, and themed decorations.
Rides and scenery alone are not enough to keep guests happy: the player must monitor what they think and meet their needs. Progress depends on balancing entertainment and park design with the management of income.
