Samurai Warriors 2: Empires

This tactical action game with strategy and fighting elements is set during Japan’s Warring States period, when the country is divided into 25 rival states. The campaign revolves around unifying the nation through a mix of political decisions and military strength. Before each battle, a war council considers military and political affairs; then the armies take to the battlefield.

Empire mode includes regional scenarios and campaigns to unify Japan, while Free mode offers separate battles. Players can choose from 400 characters or create a warrior in New Officer mode. Policy and tactics cards support decisions and battlefield maneuvers, while rival clans can be brought into alliances and captured officers hired. The game also features two-player co-op and an archive of material on samurai history and military tactics.
