This top-down action-adventure takes place inside an unfinished book by an author reflecting on his life’s work. The hero explores repeating, randomly generated worlds, fights with a sword and encounters a talking scarecrow while uncovering the story within the book.

Dungeons introduce new enemies, bosses and story elements, and each generated world also contains a pre-built dungeon with additional mechanics. Defeated enemies yield gold, while more than 50 items alter how the hero plays, offering combat boosts and new ways to solve puzzles. Items can work in combination, alongside roguelite features such as permadeath and a world that grows more challenging as the adventure progresses.
