Sublustrum Remake

A remake of the psychological adventure game Sublustrum from 2008. The plot centers around a writer investigating the disappearance of his scientist brother and trying to understand the purpose of a strange device left behind by him. Immersion in the game turns into a surreal journey through the labyrinths of consciousness, where the boundaries between reality and dreams blur.

The game combines Victorian melancholy, industrial architecture, and early 20th-century retrofuturism. The visual style is inspired by vintage optics and the graininess of film, creating the effect of auteur cinema and a barely perceptible dream.

Special attention is paid to sound: it not only creates atmosphere but also becomes an element of several puzzles based on rhythm and musical elements. The soundtrack of the remake blends dark ambient and neoclassicism, immersing the player into the depths of the subconscious.
