The Classrooms

A procedural horror game featuring liminal spaces and the style of found VHS footage. The events take place in 1996. Robert Chen heads to a recently closed school to investigate the disappearance of its students, including his younger sister. But soon after entering, he discovers that he is trapped in an endless labyrinth of corridors and classrooms, where familiar architecture follows inexplicable rules. The story unfolds through the contents of an abandoned videotape, gradually revealing the secrets of this mysterious place.

The game’s main feature is its procedurally generated world, which changes with every playthrough. The layout of the rooms and the anomalies encountered are constantly different, so each new exploration brings unexpected discoveries. The oddities range from harmless phenomena to hostile entities that pose a serious threat. Each creature has its own traits and behavior mechanics, and learning them may be the key to survival. The analog recording effect, deserted school rooms, and sense of endless space create an unsettling atmosphere where something inexplicable may be hiding around the next corner.
