Invisible pet beds.
You can place it very close or even halfway on other objects, then the pets will sleep next to the fireplace or in the grass.
Can be placed in the center of a large slot, for example on a table.
Can be disguised with a rug.
If the bed is not occupied, Sims and pets will walk right through it.
