This tactical strategy game with RPG elements follows an alien invasion in which a spacecraft releases spores into the atmosphere, wiping out macroscopic life on Earth. Human civilization enters an era of survival and resistance, as battles against aliens and mutants are fought for control of territory.

The player manages bases, interceptors, and squads, conducts research, and chooses what kind of base to establish in each controlled territory: research, military, manufacturing, or biomass repulsion. Tactical missions are generated dynamically, while combat combines real time with pausing: orders can be given in detail while the game is paused and adjusted during a battle. Soldiers gain experience and develop attributes that affect their skills.
