A wrestling simulation built around WWE and NXT Superstars and Legends, with matches taking place in the ring and backstage. WWE 2K17 features a large roster, numerous moves and animations, and the MyCAREER and WWE Universe modes. Their Promo Engine lets players choose a wrestler’s dialogue, shaping their character and helping start rivalries or form alliances as they rise through NXT and WWE. MyCAREER also includes a separate storyline featuring Paul Heyman.

The creation suite lets players make and develop custom wrestlers, arenas, and championships, as well as create videos, set victory animations, and save highlight replays. Matches include brawling both in the arena and backstage, while the career and universe modes allow rivalries and alliances to take shape.
