BAFTA reveals the TOP-20 most iconic video game characters. Lara Croft takes the top spot

The British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) published the results of a poll aimed at determining the most iconic video game characters. The survey was participated in by more than 4000 gamers.

Lara Croft predictably took the top spot. The famous tomb raider first debuted in Tomb Raider in 1996 and has since appeared in more than 15 games and three movies. In February, Aspyr studio released a remaster of the original trilogy, which received warm reviews.

Mario and Agent 47 took the second and third places, respectively. The list also included Astarion and Shadowheart from Baldur's Gate 3 — this is the only case where a game made it into the top twice.

Prior to this, the academy presented the results of another game survey, dedicated to the best sequels. Red Dead Redemption 2 and Half-Life 2 made it to the final bracket of the tournament.
