iPhone 18 Pro boxes are leaner as Apple drops paper documentation

Apple has trimmed the iPhone 18 Pro package again, and the new phones now ship without any paper documentation. According to the editor-approved version, the box has been pared back once more, leaving buyers with a more minimal unboxing experience than before.

The same reference also says this reduction fits Apple's broader move toward eSIM. In some countries and regions, the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max have already fully switched from a physical SIM card to eSIM, with the United States, Canada, Japan, and several Middle Eastern countries named among those markets.

For now, the box contents are down to the essentials: the phone itself and a USB-C cable. The paper insert that usually comes with a new device is gone, too.

The editor-approved version says this is not a one-off change. Apple has been gradually cutting down the contents of iPhone boxes over several generations, and the latest revision makes the packaging look even more stripped down than before.
