Farlight 84 Devs Announce Massive Relaunch Packed With New Features
The team behind the free-to-play multiplayer action game Farlight 84 has announced a major relaunch, describing it as more than just an update—it's practically a brand new game. All players who log in after the patch will receive the new battle pass for free. According to the developers, everything has been revamped, from the interface to core mechanics and balance.
One of the biggest additions is a first-person mode, allowing players to experience the action through their hero’s eyes for greater immersion and intensity. This mode is now available for many characters, with more to be added in the future. The update also introduces a new hero, Kui Dou, a master of speed and cosmic attacks. Kui Dou can temporarily power up, move rapidly, and transform into the Cosmic Authority, dealing massive damage and slowing down enemies.
Players can also explore a new map, Nextara, which features zone predictors, rocket launchers for aerial movement, vault hacking, and enemy scanning. All these elements aim to make gameplay richer and more unpredictable.
The arsenal has expanded as well, with two new weapons and a host of unique modifications. Nearly all existing weapons have been reworked, with changes to damage, fire rate, recoil, and visual effects. Heroes haven’t been left out either—their abilities have been updated, animations improved, and some characters, like Syfer, have been completely overhauled.
Additionally, new Buddies have been added, including super versions of familiar ones and the powerful Archon Buddy, Thunderhound. Tactical gadgets are now available too, such as loot and enemy-scanning goggles, roller skates for faster movement, and auto-regenerating vests.
The UI, level system, and player card system have all undergone major changes. The old progression system has been replaced with achievements, the in-game store is now more informative, and rewards for in-game actions are more generous. New events, prize draws, and a revamped store with lower cosmetics prices have also been introduced. There’s now a Nova Packs system, which lets players earn unique items, including skins and effects.
It’s important to note that due to the sheer number of changes, all in-game settings have been reset to default, so players will need to reconfigure their preferences.
At the time of writing, Farlight 84 has a 77% positive rating. The game is free-to-play on Steam and the Epic Games Store, with a mobile version available for iOS and Android.
