A sequel to the original 2017 game Darkwood , players are transported to a post-Soviet anomalous zone around the dying Aral Sea. Players must explore abandoned villages, dilapidated factories, and mysterious biolabs, encounter dangerous creatures, and survive in a world where the forest is gradually consuming everything around them.
Players must gather resources, craft weapons, and defend themselves by building barricades and setting traps. They must decide whether to risk the night or seek safe shelter, use strange potions to gain new skills, and interact with various characters whose fates depend on their decisions.
The game's distinctive features include a lack of explicit signposts and hints, an emphasis on exploration and moral choices, and a dark atmosphere that conveys the feeling of a dangerous and volatile world.
