The Kingdom of Myrtana is engulfed in a terrible war. Hordes of orcs have invaded human lands, and the king needs a large amount of magical ore, from which he can produce excellent weapons. If a person committed even a minor crime, he was immediately sent to mine ore on the island of Khorinis. The main character was thrown into this prison. Gothic was my very first game on PC, this undoubtedly left its mark and now I may be a little biased. But nevertheless, I will without a doubt recommend it to every RPG fan or just people who like games that have their own atmosphere.
This is one of the few games in which the world is truly alive. I won't talk about quests or plot. But here you can approach literally any character and ask about the world, and the answers of two different characters will be different, one will tell you, the other will send you to hell.
The atmosphere of the game is also enhanced by the wonderful music of Rosencrantz; in the TES series, of course, there is a main musical theme, but here, for each location there are 4 themes. Day\\night and peaceful\\combat. And all this music simply delightfully conveys the s… Read full
Готика была самой первой моей игрой на PC, это без сомнений наложило свой отпечаток и я теперь возможно немного предвзят. Но тем не менее, я без сомнений порекомендую её каждому любителю РПГ или просто людям которым нравятся игры, имеющие свою атмосферу.
Это одна из немногих игр, в которых мир действительно живой. Я не буду рассказывать о квестах или сюжете. Но здесь можно подойти буквально к любом персонажу и порасспрашивать о мире и ответы двух разных персонажей будут разными, один подскажет, другой пошлёт куда подальше.
Атмосферу игры нагнетает и замечательная музыка Розенкранца, в серии TES конечно есть главная музыкальная тема, но здесь, для каждой локации имеется 4 темы. Дневная\\ночная и мирная\\боевая. И вся эта музыка просто восхитительно передаёт дух игры, стоит услыша… Read full

Хоть она и компактная по сравнению с какими либо нынешними представителями этого жанра, пираньи всегда извлекали из этого максимум плюсов: проработка и атмосфера. К сожалению я находил мало игры с такой же внимательностью к деталям. Жаль, что из-за новых операционных систем всё труднее в неё поиграть(

One of the best games of its time and the gaming industry in general.
An almost perfect combination of mechanics, design and execution (taking into account the year of production, of course).
Memories of how hard it was to bring down the first mole rat and how brazenly the guards of the old camp extorted the last penny are intricately intertwined with escapes from skeletons and the nightly ridding of local NPCs of unnecessary goods.
Moreover, sometimes nostalgia rolls in with such force that one’s hands themselves reach out to start the good old first Gothic, in order to be transported for a few dozen more magical hours to the painfully familiar and dear world of Myrtana, orcs, bandits and magic ore.

Практически идеальное сочетание механики, дизайна и исполнения (с учетом года производства, конечно).
Воспоминания о том, как тяжело было свалить первого кротокрыса и, как нагло выбивали последнюю копейку стражники старого лагеря, причудливо переплетаются с побегами от скелетов и ночным избавлением местных NPC от ненужного добра.
Более того, порой ностальгия накатывает с такой силой, что руки сами тянутся запустить старую добрую первую Готику, что бы еще на несколько десятков волшебных часов перенестись в до боли знакомый и родной мир Миртаны, орков, бандитов и волшебной руды.
An excellent Old-RPG with its own small *cozy* world, where there is a huge amount of hostile fauna, represented by ugly birds, reptiles and other evil spirits eager to tear you apart. People here are also often willing to give you a good beating. Even those NPCs who seem to be non-hostile towards you treat you with contempt, and some will constantly demand payment just so that you are not strangled at night.
Despite the fact that the game is about 20 years old, it still looks extremely good.

Отличное Олд-РПГ со своим небольшим *уютным* мирком, где огромное количество враждебной фауны, представленной уродливыми птицами, рептилиями и прочей нечисти жаждущей тебя разорвать. Люди тут тоже зачастую непротив тебя хорошенько избить. Даже те NPC, которые вроде к тебе невраждебны, относятся к тебе с призрением, а некоторые постоянно будут требовать плату только за то, чтобы тебя не придушили ночью.
Несмотря на то что игре где-то 20 лет она всё равно выглядит крайне недурно.
Удобная боёвка и система сбора ресурсов.
